I am Cathryn, a clinical dietitian on the Eastern Shore of MD and DE, practicing in acute care, acute rehab, and sub-acute long term care facilities. I received my Bachelors degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise with concentrations in Dietetics and Exercise Science from Virginia Tech in 2012. I completed my 1200 hr supervised practice internship with concentrations in Diabetes and Counseling at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 2013 and sat for my board exam, registering me as a Dietitian in July 2013. The past 5 years as an RD, LDN have provided me with extensive experience in the field of clinical nutrition, immense personal growth, and a tremendous amount of compassion for individuals struggling to find peace and happiness in relationships with food, activity, nutrition related disease, and emotional and mental health.
I am the wife of a handsome, goofy, hard-working man and the mother of a very active, fun, talkative toddler. We plan to welcome baby #2 early this October. Living my best, freely nourished life includes my relationship with God, a love of running outdoors, an affinity for waterfront dining, hosting parties showcasing mediocre Pinterest skills, and exercising creativity in my home, care of others, and in this space!
More personally, I am a very sensitive, compassionate, hard-working, often awkward, anxious person with a long (longggg) history of poor self-acceptance, body dysmorphia, eating disorder(s), and regrets of life/experiences lost to bullies, societal ideals, and attempts at making myself small. Recovery is beautiful and there is purpose in our struggles. Perfectionist is no longer a quality I desire and I want my body to take up as much space as it needs to in order to let my fun, awkward, caring, sensitive, friendly, all-inclusive, introverted extrovert self live out its God-intended purpose in this world.
Thank YOU for joining me here!
